About Me

I’m Emily, and this is my savings blog.

With a growing family on a single income, it is important that I save every penny possible.  Several months ago, when my husband Eric and I were crunching numbers, trying to see where we could make cuts in our budget, I recalled a evening news story on the “Coupon Mom” and her trip to Publix.  She spend around $13 and left with a decently full cart of groceries, because of her coupons.  So I started clipping away, and building a stash of coupons while learning how to best use them.

So, my $100-$150 a week grocery budget dropped…to $60.  Firm.  This amount includes all food and household supplies as well as diapers for a newborn and a 1 year old, plus training pants for a toddler.  After about a year of “couponing”, I can confidently say that I rarely spend all of my weekly budget.

I have introduced several friends to couponing and hope to help them, as well as others, through this blog.  My goal is to focus these savings for the folks in the Spartanburg, SC area.  There are many blogs which cater to nationwide deals.  I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel here.  I’m just aiming to help it roll a littler better.

Stay turned, and be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed so you don’t miss a single post.
